Frome at the Street 5K Nestled in the Somerset Levels, the village of Street offers the ideal conditions for the fast, flat 5K series of races organised by Wells City Harriers. On Wednesday, 14 February, a hardy bunch of Frome runners celebrated Valentine’s Day by taking to the starting line of the penultimate race in the 2023/24 Street series. Alexander Fisher (MV40) was first past the post with a blistering time of 00:20:02, closely followed by David Lee (MV40) in 00:21:19. Brett Sadler (MV60) crossed the line in 00:23:33 with Daniel Thomson (MSEN) following in 00:23:38. Four days later, on Sunday, 18 February, David Alsford (MV50) took part in the SMartt Smasher 10k, a flat multi-terrain traffic-free 10k run along the picturesque national cycle network from Calne to Stanley, near Chippenham.
