Spring may not yet have sprung so far this year, but the snow, rain and mud hasn’t deterred Frome’s club runners. Sunday, 25 February saw the return of perennial favourite The Terminator. This challenging, multi-terrain course covers a distance of approximately 12 miles and includes several steep climbs and river crossings. Ian Holmes (MV50) was the first Frome club runner to complete the course, posting a time of 01:49:13. Lynn Brand (FV55) was next in a time of 02:17:01, closely followed by Victoria Penman (FV45) in 02:17:27 and Rebecca Webb (FSEN) in 02:17:35. Becky Horsfall (FV35) crossed the line in 02:25:10. Frome Club runner Martin Taylor ventured slightly further afield in February to take part in the Transgrancanaria Trail Ultra Marathon 64km Advanced Race. The route takes runners from the valleys of the dry west to the island’s greener and wetter north, crossing some of Gran Canaria’s most outstanding natural scenery.
