Frome Running Club restarts its Junior section

Frome's EA-certified coach with young athletes
Frome Running Club has started its Junior Section again. Like many other organisations, the club was forced to suspend its activities with club juniors last autumn due to the Covid situation. Now, however, activities have resumed, with the club offering training to young people aged twelve to eighteen years. The sessions focus on running events, with the goal of improving overall fitness through activities that involve strength, coordination, speed and endurance. Runners will be exposed to sprinting, hurdling, middle distance and cross country running. The training is open to young athletes of all abilities including those new to running and runners with more experience. The new sessions are organised by the club’s new EA-certified events coach who has over twenty years of youth coaching experience in the United States and is also an age-group competitive runner on the roads and trails around Somerset. The club also has an assistant coach with six years of experience working with the juniors.
Training sessions are held on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 p.m. There will be an autumn term, winter term, and a spring term with breaks following the school calendar.
