June Running Report

It has been a busy few weeks for Frome Running Club with runners representing the club at a variety of races across the country.  On 10 June Ali Higgins ran the Lakeland Trails 10km at Coniston in the Lake District, finishing a tough circuit in a creditable 1:21.

Closer to home Jo Fordham represented Frome at the picturesque Broad Town 5 near Royal Wootton Bassett on Saturday 18 June, completing the course in just over 37 minutes and finishing as 5th female overall, 2nd in her age category. Great result Jo!

Rachel Bala was part of a team running the gruelling Endure 24 at Wasing Park in Reading over the weekend 18-19 June.  Rachel completed 6 of the arduous 8km laps, a total distance of 30 miles.  Undeterred by this, she went on to participate in the Giant’s Head Half Marathon in Dorset the next Sunday.  In hot conditions, she finished the challenging course in 2:40:57 which gave her 17th place in age category and a memorable medal, fabulous running Rachel.
