  Frome Running Club Race Report July 2022 On 6 th July Ted Sprules took on the challenge of the Chippenham Tri Midweek Duathlon which involved a 10 mile bike race and a 2 mile run. Sprightly Ted finished this challenge in a time of 55:01, earning himself first place supvet 60 and 11 th place overall. Well done Ted. The Avon Valley Relay is a 17 mile ‘pass the baton’ relay over four self-navigated stages along the roads and towpaths between Winsley and Trowbridge via Melksham through the beautiful Avon Valley. A Frome team consisting of Barrie Knight, Jo Fordham and Ben Spicer participated on this hot summer’s day, they should be justly proud of themselves.                                                                    Jo Fordham in the AVR relay                                                                                         Ben Spicer crossing the line for Frome Frome Running Club offers both on and off-road training and welcomes new members, whatever the ability.

June Running Report

  It has been a busy few weeks for Frome Running Club with runners representing the club at a variety of races across the country.   On 10 June Ali Higgins ran the Lakeland Trails 10km at Coniston in the Lake District, finishing a tough circuit in a creditable 1:21.   Closer to home Jo Fordham represented Frome at the picturesque Broad Town 5 near Royal Wootton Bassett on Saturday 18 June, completing the course in just over 37 minutes and finishing as 5 th female overall, 2 nd in her age category. Great result Jo!     Jo Fordham running the Broad Town 5   Rachel Bala was part of a team running the gruelling Endure 24 at Wasing Park in Reading over the weekend 18-19 June.   Rachel completed 6 of the arduous 8km laps, a total distance of 30 miles.   Undeterred by this, she went on to participate in the Giant’s Head Half Marathon in Dorset the next Sunday.   In hot conditions, she finished the challenging course in 2:40:57 which gave her 17 th place in age category and a me
